The Matter e-bike looks sporty and has the presence of a street bike. The bike’s front indicators are integrated with the tank of the motorcycle. They get an L-shaped design which is visible from both the front and sides. Towards the rear, the Aera gets a slim tidy design with a simple tail lamp. The slim rear indicators are positioned separately below the tail light. It also has all-around LED lights, clip-on handlebars, split seats, and a rear grab handle.
The bike also gets a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster. It gets features like navigation, notification alerts and even music playback. Apart from these, it also gets over-the-air (OTA) updates. Along with the mobile app, the rider can also get more details like ride stats, bike location and charging status.
Both the Aera 5000 and 5000+ come with identical powertrain. They get a 10 kW motor along with a 5 kWh battery which is capable of fast charging. A normal charge takes 5 hours while using fast charging can replenish the battery in just 2 hours. Further, Matter’s bike comes with active liquid cooling for both the powertrain and the battery.
The bike has a claimed range of 125 km while the bike will accelerate to 60 km/h from a standstill in under 6 seconds.
Matter will manufacture the electric motorcycle at its Changodar plant in Ahmedabad. This facility is spread across 2,00,000 Sq ft and will initially produce 60,000 units per annum. Once the demand increases, the company will expand its production capacity to 2,00,000 units per annum. The company has also said that they strive to employ over 1000 staff directly or indirectly.
