Design of the Maserati Tipo Folgore Gen3

The livery choice for the racing car is said to be contemporary and gives the car a pure look. The Maserati Trident is displayed prominently on the nose of the car. Alongside, the Maserati Corse logo is also displayed on both sides of the car. This logo contains the Italian Tricolore.

The car is finished in the classic Trident’s iconic blue hue, which represents the ultimate electric performance, efficiency and cutting-edge technology of the carmaker. The Italian carmaker is also using its ‘Race Beyond’ philosophy, where the technology used on the circuit is used in the road-going cars.

Powertrain of the Maserati Tipo Folgore Gen3

The Gen3 cars are the most fastest and most efficient Formula E cars ever. It gets front and rear powertrains which deliver a combined power of 600kW of regenerative braking and upto 95 percent of power efficiency. This means that over a period of one race, the car will regenerate over 40 percent of the total energy used using regenerative braking alone. Additionally, this car is important for the Trigent team as the track expertise, technology and software used in Formula E will make its way to the premium road-going cars of the Folgore range.

Maserati’s racing pedigree

The first racing car to bear the Trident logo was the Tipo 26. Back in 1926, this car made its debut at the Targa Florio, and finished first in its class. The racing car was helmed by Alfieri Maserati. It is now 96 years after which the Trident logo has made its way back to a racing car, and that too an electric one. This electric racing car represents Maserati’s commitment to the electrification era .
