Maserati ready for future with electrification plan

Maserati has announced the brand’s electrification plans and sales results for 2021. The brand claims that it is the first Italian manufacturer to produce full-electric models. Maserati also revealed the plans for the market launch of the electric range, Maserati Folgore. Similar to other global manufacturers, Maserati is also working towards the electrification of its products to keep up with the EV market. The brand also revealed that by 2030, the entire Maserati range would be fully electric.

Maserati Folgore

Maserati, at the “MMXX: Time to be Audacious” event in September 2020, announced that it has completed the revamp of the Trident brand. Now, the brand also announced that it is ready for the launch of the Maserati Folgore, a fully electric vehicle adding to the new 100% electric range. With this, Maserati will become the first Italian luxury brand to launch a 100% electric sports car.

The company also boasts that it will set the benchmark in every market segment and will be the first luxury brand to complete its electric line-up by 2025. In addition to this, the brand reveals that the Maserati Folgore full-electric strategy has been developed with customers’ requirements in mind. Thanks to this, the focus of every single product and form remains a part of the Brand’s DNA. 

Maserati GranTurismo

The Trident brand also revealed that the new GranTurismo would be the first car in Maserati’s history to adopt 100% electric solutions. The brand will produce the GranTurismo at the Mirafiori production hub. Furthermore, the Maserati GranTurismo will make its debut in the international market in 2023, announced Maserati. Maserati also boasts that the new GranTurismo will come with cutting-edge technical solutions, derived from the brand’s experience from Formula E. The Maserati Grecale SUV is also scheduled to launch in the next few days, which will later be available in the all-electric version. 

Maserati Sales

In 2021 Maserati became the Stellantis brand’s only luxury brand to have reported an increase in its global market share to 2.4%. In North America and China, the brand specifically showed growth of 2.9% and 2.7%, respectively. Maserati also boasts to have recorded 41% year-on-year growth with a total of 24,269 vehicles delivered to customers worldwide. The brand also reported that the Adjusted Operating Income (AOI) margin stood at 5.1%, and Net Revenues were EUR 2,021 million.
