Maserati has revealed that the company will make its debut in the 9th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Maserati and ROKiT Venturi Racing reveal that the brands have chosen the Rome E-Prix to announce their multi-year partnership. ROKiT and Maserati have been united by their fighting exuberance and also the desire for innovation.
Maserati is also the first Italian brand to participate in the Formula E championship. The company revealed that the Italian manufacturer would make its debut on the starting grid with the new Gen3 car. The Gen3 car is the most powerful Formula E single-seater ever. The car is the fastest and lightest car in its class. Also, the Gen3 car features a number of innovations in terms of design, production and technology.
In addition to this, the brand has revealed that ROKiT Venturi Racing already leads the two World Championships, Team and Driver. Furthermore, the team’s campaign last year made it the most successful to date. It took two victories, five podiums as well as the title of Vice-World Champion for the Swiss Italian Edoardo Mortara.
The Gen3 Formula E is not only the most powerful, fastest and lightest vehicle but also the most efficient. The Gen3 racer features industry-leading production and technologies, which will later trickle into Maserati’s road-going electric cars. Maserati recently revealed the new Grecale SUV in the international market. The brand also revealed that the Grecale Folgore would arrive next year.
Folgore is the full-electric version featuring a 400V architecture. Maserati has revealed that the electric vehicle will come with a 105 kWh battery pack matched to a powerful drive unit that can belt out 800 Nm of torque. The Maserati Folgore will also come with an AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) setup, thanks to dual motors. The learnings from Formula E are also likely to help Maserati develop the Grecale Folgore.
