Maruti Suzuki is working on launching the rebadged version of the recently launched Toyota Innova HyCross. As per reports, we might see the MPV arrive sometime by August 2023.
Maruti Suzuki’s Version Of Toyota Innova HyCross
In terms of design, Suzuki’s version will have exactly the same design as the Innova HyCross. This is pretty much how we have been with the Baleno-Glanza setup. Thus expect subtle small changes here and there as the differentiating factors. The badge-engineered Innova HyCross might come with a new front grille design, as had been the case with Glanza. We might also see a revised bumper design and of course, the Maruti Suzuki badging.
Few Differentiating Factors
Maruti Suzuki will obviously give it a new name to differentiate the two products. Interesting to mention that the Maruti Suzuki product’s manufacturing will take place at Toyota’s facility in Karnataka. With this host of similar parameters, we are also expecting a similar price tag. Thus the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki MPV will retail in the range of INR 20 to 30 lakhs (ex-showroom). Toyota has not revealed the price details of the product just as yet. It will reveal the pricing of the Innova HyCross somewhere in the next month.
Features On Offer
Coming to the features and equipment on offer. We will have the same list that comes with the Toyota Innova HyCross. This also includes the much-talked-about ADAS tech. Noteworthy to mention it will become the first Maruti Suzuki to get ADAS tech here in India. Once launched this MPV will retail as one of the two Hybrid engine-powered vehicles in their lineup.
Will It Sell In Good Numbers?
Customers in India have a perception of Maruti Suzuki being an entry-level mass-market car maker. Thus, we will wait to see how the customers react to a premium offering from the carmaker.
