Maruti Suzuki forayed into the commercial vehicle segment in 2016 with the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry. The brand is now celebrating 4 successful years of the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry mini-truck. The brand has also revealed that it has sold over 70,000 units of the mini-truck in the Indian market.
The Super Carry features best-in-segment mileage and power, is easy to maintain, comfortable and comes with a high-deck capacity. These features help enhance the profitability of the vehicle. The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry is powered by a BS6-compliant G12B series 1.2-litre four-cylinder SOHC Multi-Point fuel-injected petrol engine that delivers 64 Hp of power and 85 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission.
In the mini-truck segment, the Maruti Suzuki Carry recorded a market share of 15% in FY19-20 which has grown to 20% of market share FY 2020-21. The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry is sold through 320 Maruti Suzuki commercial outlets in over 235 cities across India.
The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry also comes with an S-CNG engine that comes with a 70-litre (water equivalent) CNG fuel tank along with a 5-litre petrol tank in case of assistance. The S-CNG kit comes fitted from the factory and is equipped with dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and intelligent injection system that has been specially tuned and calibrated to deliver optimum performance and driveability.
The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry features a Cab on Chassis design with a seating capacity of driver + 1 and a flat-bed on the rear. In terms of dimensions, the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry measure 3,800mm in length, 1,562mm in width, 1,883mm in height and 2,110mm of the wheelbase. The load-carrying deck is 2,183mm in length, 1,488mm in width, 300mm in height and has a 625 kg payload carrying capacity and is capable 21% gradeability.
The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry S-CNG is the first light commercial vehicle in the country to have become BS6 compliant and comes in the Flex-Fuel (petrol+CNG) powertrain.
