Maruti Suzuki sold 1,70,071 cars in March 2023

Maruti Suzuki has released its March sales figure. For the month of March 2023, India’s largest carmaker sold a total sales of 170,071 vehicles. This figure breaks down as domestic sales at 136,787 units. On the other hand, the sales to other OEMs stood at 3,165 vehicles. In terms of international business, the export figure for Maruti Suzuki stood at 30,119 units for March 2023.

Financial Year 2022-23 Performace For Maruti Suzuki

Talking of the full financial year 2022-23, Maruti Suzuki sold its highest-ever total sales of 1,966,164 units. This includes domestic sales of 1,644,876 units with a growth of 20.5 per cent over FY 2021-22. Meanwhile, sales to other OEMs stood at 61,955 units. In fact, it also posted its highest-ever exports of 259,333 units. The sales figures are quite encouraging for Maruti Suzuki.

Semi-Conductor Shortage Still A Concern For Maruti Suzuki

The carmaker again talked about some issues with manufacturing. This was due to a shortage in the supply of semiconductor chips. Although Maruti Suzuki has made sure that they are taking all the necessary steps to curtail the impact.

Maruti Suzuki’s Detailed Sales Detailed Breakup For March 2023

Maruti Suzuki’s Mini segment consists of S-Presso and Alto. The carmaker retailed a total of 11,582 units. Meanwhile, the Compact segment garners maximum sales. The carmaker sold a total of 71,832 units. This segment includes Maruti Suzuki’s top sellers like Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Dzire, Baleno, Tour S, and WagonR.

Maruti Suzuki’s mid-size segment currently only comprises Ciaz. The sales figure stood at 300 units. In the Utility vehicles segment, the carmaker retails Ertiga, Brezza, and XL6, and Maruti Suzuki retails 37,054 units. Eeco falls under the Van segment, selling a total of 11,352 vehicles. Adding it all Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 132,763 units. This figure is for its entire passenger vehicle lineup in the Indian market.
