Maruti Suzuki is recalling its much-popular Baleno and WagonR models in the Indian market. The recall pertains to a potential defect in the fuel pump motor component. According to reports, 11,851 units of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and 4,190 units of the Maruti Suzuki WagonR are likely to have the issue. Reports reveal that, the Baleno and WagonR manufactured between 30 July 2019 and 1 November 2019 are the ones affected.
The recall for the fuel pump component may lead to poor starting or stalling the engine. However, reports suggest that this could be a rare event. Despite, Maruti Suzuki is replacing the faulty component without any cost to the customer. Also, dealer workshops will be contacting owners of the vehicles under recall to get the unit replaced. In addition to this, customers can also check if their vehicle is under the recall by entering the chassis number on the brand’s official website. It is also important to note that, no accidents, injuries or deaths have been reported pertaining to this recall.
Maruti Suzuki is planning to update its Swift and Swift Dzire cars in India. Spyshots of both cars have emerged on the internet which leads us to believe that the company will soon be introducing the updated models in the Indian market. The Swift Dzire compact sedan is likely to come with a refreshed front and rear design. In addition to this, the interiors of the vehicles are also likely to come with an upgrade.
The spied test mule also featured a sunroof which is likely to be offered on the top spec variants. Also, the higher-spec Dzire and Swift is likely to come with ADAS technology which is internationally available on the new Swift. The car are also likely to come with a new 1.2-litre Z12E engine which comes with hybrid technology abroad. Maruti Suzuki is also likely to offer a CNG version which is quite popular in India.
