Maruti Suzuki, has announced its ambitious Vision 3.0 plan at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. The new plan aims to double its production capacity to four million units and triple its exports from India in the next eight years. The plan also involves expanding its product portfolio from 17 to 28 models by the end of the decade, with a focus on SUVs and EVs.
According to sources, Maruti Suzuki will launch eight new models in the Indian market in the next three to four years.
Maruti Suzuki Upcoming Products
- New Swift and Dzire (codenamed YED): The next-generation hatchback and compact sedan will be launched in 2025, with the Swift coming before the Dzire. The new Swift will have a new design and a sporty appeal, while the Dzire will have a more upmarket look with added chrome and lighter interior shades. Both models will get more features and a new Z-series 1.2-litre petrol engine.
- New Grand Vitara 7-seater (codenamed Y17): A three-row version of the Grand Vitara SUV will be launched in 2026, and will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to roll out from the new Kharkhoda plant. The SUV will compete with the likes of the XUV700, Alcazar and Safari, and will offer a petrol, a Toyota hybrid and a CNG powertrain option. The SUV will also be built for Toyota by Maruti Suzuki under their partnership.
- New sub-four-metre SUV (codenamed Y43): A new compact SUV that will rival the Punch and the Exter will be launched in 2026, and will sit below the Brezza in the Maruti Suzuki lineup. The SUV will have proper SUV styling and features, and will cater to the growing demand for budget SUVs in the Indian market.
- New Spacia-based MPV (codenamed YDB): A new compact MPV based on the Japanese Spacia K-car will be launched in 2026, and will target the Triber as a value-for-money people mover. The MPV will have sliding doors, a spacious cabin and a frugal engine. The MPV will also be sold under the Nexa premium brand.
Apart from these new models, Maruti Suzuki will also launch several facelifts and updates for its existing models, such as the Baleno, Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6, S-Cross and S-Presso. The carmaker will also introduce more EVs and hybrids in its portfolio, starting with the Wagon R EV in 2024. Maruti Suzuki aims to have at least six different powertrain options in its lineup by 2030, including EVs, hybrids, petrol, CNG, flex-fuel and ethanol-powered cars.
