Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold 1,54,379 cars in January 2022

Maruti Suzuki India Limited announces its sales report for January 2021. The carmaker reported a total sales of 1,54,379 units for the given period. This includes domestic sales of 132,461 units, sales to other OEMs of 3,981 units and exports of 17,937 units. Similar to most of the other automotive manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki is also facing a crunch of shortage in the supply of semiconductor chips. But, the company is taking all probable measures to mitigate the risk and minimize the impact.

Detailed Sales Analysis

For the mini segment that comprises Alto and S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 18,634 units. The compact segment registered the maximum sales with 71,472 units. Most of the top-sellers fall in this category, including the likes of Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR. In the mid-size segment that includes the likes of Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki reported a total sales figure of 1,666 units. In the passenger mover segment, the carmaker posted a total sales of 91,772 units. This includes the Ertiga, Gypsy, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, XL6 and the Eeco. Super Carry is the only offering in the light commercial vehicle segment that sold a total of 3,537 units.

Other Updates

Maruti Suzuki will soon launch its all-new Baleno. The car will receive some radical changes both in terms of exterior and interior updates. The carmaker has released some exclusive teasers of the hatchback, of which the HUD remains one of the highlighting features. Alongside this, Baleno will also get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki also mentioned that Baleno would get a 360-degree camera, which is a segment-first feature.

Customers wanting to buy one will get 7 different variants and colours to choose from. Bookings are already open, and customers can visit their nearest Nexa showroom to avail themselves of the same. Moreover, customers can also visit Nexa’s official website to avail themselves of the online booking feature. Maruti Suzuki has put up INR 11,000 as the booking amount for the all-new Baleno.
