Maruti Suzuki increases Baleno production to reduce waiting period

Maruti Suzuki has bumped up the production of their popular B2 segment hatchback, the Baleno. The primary reason to do so is to reduce the waiting period for the car, and deliver it faster to potential customers especially during the festive season. The Baleno was launched in October 2015, and next year, you can expect a facelift version to be launched.

The Baleno is one of the country’s top selling cars. It has managed sales of over 4,50,000 units since launch and still remains a mass favourite in the premium hatchback space. The Baleno is manufactured only in India. It is the first car which is built in India, and exported to Japan. It is also exported to multiple destinations like Australia, Europe, Latin America and East Asia.

The Baleno comes powered by a 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engine, both matched to 5-speed manual gearboxes. The petrol motor also gets an optional CVT gearbox.
