Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara sales cross 2.5 lakh units milestone

Maruti’s flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara, has achieved the milestone of 2.5 lakh unit sales mark since its launch on September 26, 2022. It was introduced at the starting price of INR 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom0 and comes in 12 variants.

Grand Vitara: best-selling Nexa SUV

Grand Vitara is the fastest in the midsize SUV segment to reach the 1,00,000 and 2,00,000 unit sales milestones. It now makes up 17% of Maruti Suzuki’s UV sales from April to November 2024. In November 2024, a total of 10,148 units were sold, and a cumulative wholesale sales total of 2,50,000 units were made since its inception.

It just needed four months to reach 50,000 more units after surpassing the milestone of 2,00,000 units sold in early July 2024. With 12,589 units sold overall, the Grand Vitara, which is sold through Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa sales channel, has surpassed the Fronx compact SUV (2,39,877 units), which was introduced in April 2023, as the best-selling Nexa SUV.

According to the most recent industry data, the Grand Vitara sold 2,52,466 units overall, including 79,982 units between April and November of 2024. With 2,00,000 units sold in 22 months, the Grand Vitara surpasses the Hyundai Creta, which took 25 months to reach the same milestone and becomes the fastest midsize SUV to reach the 2,50,000-unit milestone. In just twelve months after going on sale, the well-liked Maruti SUV became the fastest vehicle in the midsize SUV industry to reach the one million unit milestone.

Features

Two engine options power the Maruti Grand Vitara: a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission and a 1.5-litre petrol engine with strong-hybrid technology mated with an e-CVT. It offers safety features such as Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, ABS (Anti-lock braking system), EBD, and TPMS.
