The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is one of the best priced family MUVs in the country. The Ertiga is currently sold at the Maruti Suzuki Arena showrooms and the brand has now given it new BS6 compliant engines. The Ertiga BSVI has been priced at INR 7.55 lakh onwards and the pricing ranges till INR 10.50 lakh for the top trims. The Ertiga BSVI comes well before the deadline of April 1st, 2020 when these engines will become mandatory in the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki has already launched the Alto, WagonR, Swift and Baleno with BSVI engines in India.
The BS6 emissions compliant engine in the Ertiga is a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor producing 105 HP of power and 138 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic gearbox option. The Ertiga petrol also gets SHVS technology which is a mild hybrid system. This works with a lithium-ion battery coupled to an integrated starter generator which assists the motor to deliver better low end acceleration, and hence reducing the fuel consumption need.
Although this BSVI engine is modern enough, the prices have been hiked by roughly INR 10,000 – 55,000. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the best-selling MUV in the Indian market, and leads the people mover segment in the passenger car department. In the recent past, the Ertiga has managed to get close to 8,000 unit monthly sales, which is very promiscing.
Maruti Suzuki has also introduced a CNG variant of the Ertiga for the fleet operators and daily commuters.
For safety, the Ertiga MPV comes with standard safety features such as ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, brake assist, high speed warning, seat belt with pre-tensioners, seat belt reminder as standard on all variants. The new generation Ertiga is much larger in comparison to the predecessor and offers more headroom and even boot space in the 3rd row. Not to forget an even more comfortable 2nd row.
