Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV : More Details

Like other shared models, the new Engage MPV will have a few changes to distinguish it from the Toyota offering. These could include a new grille and revised front and rear bumpers.

Overall, the updates to the new Engage MPV are in line with the other offerings from the Nexa stable. The Maruti Grand Vitara’s grille design and front end is likely to be inspiration for the Engage.

Maruti could update the DRL’s of the car. The Indian car maker could offer its signature three dot LED DRLs as seen on the new Baleno and the Grand Vitara.

Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV : Powertrain

As the MPV is based on the Toyota TNGA-C platform, it is likely to carry forward the same choice of engines as the Innova Hycross. These include a 2.0-litre NA engine and a 2.0-litre hybrid powertrain. There will be no diesel option available.

It is also possible that Maruti could introduce a CNG variant at a later stage. However, this is mere speculation and no official word is out yet.

Maruti-Toyota Alliance : More Details

Both the Japanese carmakers entered into an alliance back in 2017. Under this partnership, the two companies would collaborate on badge-engineered models as well as other technologies. So far, in India, they have collaborated on the Baleno-Glanza, Brezza-Urban Cruiser, Grand Vitara-Hycross and now this new MPV.

The Toyota Innova Hycross currently is sold in five variants. These are G, GX, VX, ZX and ZX (O). While the first two are available with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, the others use the stronger 2.0-litre hybrid engine. The MPV is offered in both 7 and 8-seater configurations.
