A while back, Maruti Suzuki removed a bunch of features from the popular Brezza. It also included safety features and removal of the mild hybrid system from the manual transmission variants. Now, the Indian carmaker has updated the feature list of the WagonR – India’s most popular car as per sales numbers.
Removal of rear defogger
One of the key features that has been removed is the rear defogger. It has been removed from not just the top-end Zxi+ variant, but also the brochure itself.
A defogger is a handy feature to have especially in the monsoons. Further, even in the winter seasons, the defogger prevents accumulation of condensation on the glass, thereby improving the visibility. Indirently, it improved the safety of the vehicle.
In WagonR, the defogger consists of a system of copper wires in the rear windscreen that head up when activated.

The 3rd-gen WagonR has the highest percentage of repeat buyers. 24% of its customers prefer upgrading to the newest WagonR with upgraded features. Based on the 5th generation HEARTECT platform, WagonR is now equipped with ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The latest iteration of WagonR can also be easily driven on slopes with the help of Hill Hold Assist.
The 3rd generation Wagon-R starts at INR 5.51 lakh and features 2 advanced K-series engine options. While the WagonR was never sold with a diesel engine option, it is currently offered with two petrol engine options including a 1.0L & 1.2L motor with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission. Wagon-R caters to a diverse range of customers hence also offers S-CNG variants. S-CNG variants come with a factory-fitted CNG kit in the boot of this hatchback. The 998cc, 3-cylinder unit develops 66 BHP and 82 Nm, while the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder unit is rated 89 BHP and 113 Nm.
