The commercial channel, i.e. Maruti Suzuki Commercial registered a total sales of over 92,000 units. Maruti Suzuki Commercial is one of the fastest-growing automobile networks in the country with over 325 outlets spread across 235 cities. Commercial vehicles form an important part of the Indian automotive sector and Maruti Suzuki wants to take advantage of the growing demand for commercial vehicles with the introduction of this channel.
Maruti Suzuki Commercial aims to bring the triple advantage of the low acquisition cost, low running cost and low maintenance cost so as more customers are attracted to the brand. Backed up the widest service network of any car manufacturer in the country, the commercial vehicles offered by Maruti Suzuki include customers looking to buy cargo/goods vehicles as well as passenger mobility vehicles. Currently, there are seven products in the portfolio of Maruti Suzuki Commercial that includes, powerful goods carrier range like Super Carry and Eeco Cargo and passenger mobility range includes options like Alto -Tour H1, Dzire- Tour S, Ertiga-Tour M, Celerio- Tour H2, and Eeco-Tour V. Currently, post the stringent BS-VI norms kicked in, there are only two fuel options, petrol and factory-fitted S-CNG. Though, there are rumours doing the rounds suggesting that Maruti Suzuki is planning to bring back the diesel engines which will benefit a lot to the commercial segment as diesel vehicles are way more economical when compared to their petrol counterparts.
The company is mainly targeting cab owners, market load operators, captive owners, owner-cum-drivers, and fleet owners.
