BS6 compliant Maruti Suzuki CelerioX launched at INR 4.90 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has launched the CelerioX with a BS6 emission compliant engine at the price starting from INR 4.90 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The CelerioX is based on the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and it is the more rugged version of the popular hatchback. The car in its standard form is priced starting at INR 4.41 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi, but the entry-level VXI trim on the CelerioX is the mid-spec variant on the standard version and the Celerio VXI is priced at INR 4.80 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.

In the engine department, the CelerioX now comes with a BS6 compliant K10B series 998cc three-cylinder liquid-cooled 12-valve aluminium type engine that produces 68 ps of power and 90 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional AMT unit. 

In terms of the exterior dimensions, the CelerioX features a longer, wider and taller body than the Celerio and measures in at 3,715mm in length, 1635mm in width and 1565mm in height. On the other hand, the standard Celerio measures 3,695mm in length, 1,600mm in width and 1,560mm in height. The larger proportions are due to the extra claddings on the sides, a bumper with extensions on both ends and roof rails. The wheelbase on both the car remains the same and is measured at 2,425mm.

In terms of styling, the CelerioX features an X-shaped dual-tone bumper with a large air-dam with blacked-out meshed grille, rounded fog lamp units, clear lens halogen headlamps, rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding, black finish ORVMs, door-side mouldings, black door handles, blacked-out B-pillar, front and rear bumper garnish, combination tail lamps etc. On the interior, the CelerioX gets a dual-tone and patterned seat upholstery, black dashboard with a silver accent, control mounted three-point steering wheel, day and night IRVM, analogue instrument with a digital multi-information display etc.  

In terms of safety, the CelerioX comes with a driver-side airbag, Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) for both driver and passenger, pedestrian protection, reverse parking sensor, over-speed alert, ABS, headlight levelling, immobiliser and childproof doors as standard, while top-spec trims come with dual front airbags, rear window wash wipe, rear window demister, front seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters, etc on top of the standard equipment.

The Maruti Suzuki CelerioX is available in five exterior paint options – Glistening Grey, Arctic White, Torque Blue, Paprika Orange and Caffeine Brown.
