Maruti Suzuki Alto CNG launched at INR 4.11 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level model Alto has seen a model update recently and the car brought with it added safety features and a BSVI compliant engine. The facelift also saw a few cosmetic upgrades to the car as well as new features added to the interior. The most recent upgrade to the model is the introduction of the CNG variant which was not available on the facelift till date. Maruti Suzuki has now introduced the Alto Lxi CNG and the Alto LXi (O) CNG priced at INR 4.11 lakh and INR 4.14 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.

The engine specifications of the BSVI CNG variant is to be announced but the car in the BSVI petrol avatar has the following specification figures:-

Engine 796 cc
Max Power 48 HP @ 6000 rpm
Max Torque 69 Nm @ 3500 rpm

The CNG engine is likely to produce slightly less output, for reference the BSIV CNG engine made 41 HP of power and 60 Nm of torque. The BSIV petrol made 48 HP of power and 69 Nm of torque.

The new CNG variant will get the same equipment as the petrol powered variant and the car comes in the LXi and LXi (O) trim which gets power steering, front power windows, air conditioning, retractable 3-point seatbelts, remote opening boot and fuel lids, silver accents on the interior, body coloured door handles and mirrors among others.  

In terms of safety, the LXi variant gets driver side airbag, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, speed alert system, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, Immobiliser, Tubeless tyres, headlight levelling, high-mounted stop lamp, collapsible steering column, rear door child lock and an extra passenger airbag on the LXi (O).
