Maruti Suzuki will launch the Ciaz sedan on 6th of October, 2014. However, without display cars making it to every showroom, the Ciaz has registered over 6,000 pre-launch bookings.
The latest entry into the C2 sedan segment, the Ciaz seems all set to create a mark in a segment where Maruti has failed with previous products such as the Baleno and SX4. It will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options with an automatic transmission coupled to the petrol motor. Petrol motor is a 1.4L K series engine producing 92 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque. Diesel unit is a 1.3L, Fiat-sourced, Multijet engine producing 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. ARAI certified fuel efficiency for the petrol and diesel engine is 20.7 kmpl and 26.3 kmpl respectively.
Maruti has introduced new trim levels with the Ciaz, the ZXi+ and ZDi+. The petrol automatic will be available in the top as well as mid variant.
Feature list on the car includes projector headlamps, 16″ alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, ABS, dual airbags, rear AC vents, start / stop button etc.
Expect pricing to be upwards of Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
