Indian automotive giant Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has announced 65,000 bookings made for its XUV700 SUV in two weeks. Commencement of bookings began on 7th October 2021, with deliveries for petrol variants beginning from 30th October 2021. Deliveries for the diesel variants of the XUV700 will start from the final week of November.
Mahindra XUV700: Deliveries and Bookings process
To devise and implement an algorithm-based delivery process, Mahindra has partnered with one of the top 3 global consulting companies. Mahindra’s objective is to smoothen the customer delivery process by utilizing a combination of various parameters. These include the number of bookings at the city and dealer level and the ratio of online along with offline bookings at dealerships.
Another parameter is the variant-level production feasibility based on supply chain constraints. Starting 27th October 2021, Mahindra will communicate the petrol and diesel XUV700’s delivery times to customers based on their dealerships. These dates may change depending on the ongoing global semiconductor chip shortage and supply chain scenario.
Mahindra’s XUV700 SUV clocked in an unprecedented 25,000 bookings each day between 7th and 8th October 2021. Overall, the Mahindra XUV700 clocked in 50000 bookings in just under three hours during the two days of the booking process. All bookings for the SUV are currently open for customers via the online website or the nearest dealerships. Current prices for the XUV700 SUV will prevail during the time of delivery.
Mahindra XUV700: Record-Breaking Achievements
During the month of October, the Mahindra XUV700 also achieved its two record-breaking milestones. The SUV successfully broke the National 24-hour Endurance Record at the Mahindra SUV Proving Track (MSPT) organized by EVO India. All four XUV700’s that entered the event recorded 4000 km of distance travelled at an average speed of 170-180 kph.
This achievement makes it the first SUV to break the previously set record. India Book of Records verified the record under strict regulations of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India. The XUV700 is also the first Made-in-India vehicle to climb the highest motorable road in the world. Conducted at Umling La, Ladakh region, the record event was organised by ‘carandbike’ along with ‘Auto Today’.
