The Mahindra XUV400 is the latest EV from Mahindra. It made its debut at the Indian Auto Expo and has received quite an overwhelming response from customers. The fact that the electric SUV’s bookings have crossed 10,000 already, further ascertains the fact. Mahindra has started taking bookings for their first electric SUV, the XUV400. And within just 5 days, they’ve received over 10k bookings, which is quite remarkable.
The XUV400 launched on January 16th retail with a starting price of INR 15.99 lakh. Mahindra has targets to deliver over 20k units within a year of the launch. The first deliveries will begin in March for the XUV400 EL. Meanwhile, during the upcoming Diwali season, the XUV400 EC will roll out. The pricing is introductory, as is the case with all new Mahindra vehicles. Bookings and test drives are currently available across 34 dealerships across the country. The increasingly high bookings for the XUV400 would put some questions on Tata Motors a bit. Nexon EV and Nexon EV Pro Max are currently the hottest-selling electric vehicles cars in the country.
The EC gets a 34.5 kWh battery pack that generates 150 Ps and 310 Nm of torque. This variant comes with a certified driving range of 375 km. Key features include 4 disc brakes, connected car features, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The EL variant comes with a larger 39.4 kWh battery pack that comes with a certified driving range of 456 km. It adds features like keyless entry, an electric sunroof, and side & curtain airbags.
Mahindra claims that the XUV400 has the fastest acceleration in its segment, out numbering even the Nexon EV. The electric SUV can go from 0-100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 150 kmph. The electric SUV is available in five colours with a standard warranty of 3 years/unlimited kms, plus an 8-year/160k km warranty for the battery and motor.
