Mahindra XUV300 W6 diesel variant gets AMT gearbox for INR 9.99 lakh

Going by the demand and supply route, Mahindra has introduced an AMT automatic gearbox variant for the XUV300 compact-SUV in the W6 trim. This variant is priced at INR 9.99 lakh ex-showroom, and the XUV300 rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300, Tata Nexon, etc. This new Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) which Mahindra dubbs as autoSHIFT is available on the W6 diesel variant and is now available for orders across all Mahindra showrooms.

The AMT gearbox for the Mahindra XUV300 has been developed by Marelli, the same brand who does the job for Maruti Suzuki as well. The XUV300 W6 autoSHIFT now offers the convenience of an automatic gearbox on an engine which delivers the best-in-class 300 Nm of peak torque from the 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged motor. This engine block pumps out 116.6 PS of power and these figures are higher than competitors.

The Mahindra XUV300 W6 diesel autoSHIFT AMT will come with features such as ESP, Hill Start Assist, vehicle creep mode, kick-down gear shift assist, down-hill mode, anti-engine stall function, clutch abuse detection, manual tiptronic mode along with creep disable for door opening.

The Mahindra XUV300 might be the most expensive compact-SUV in its class when comparing the top trims, but comes with features which are segment-best. The XUV300 is a sub-4 metre SUV priced between INR 8.10 lakh to INR 12.69 lakh ex-showroom across the petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant of the XUV300 comes powered by a 1.2L, turbocharged, 4-cylinder block producing 110.1 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Safety features which are standard even on the base W4 variant include dual front airbags, cornering braking control, all-4 disc brakes, ISOFIX, seat belt reminder, seat belt with pretensioner and load limiter, speed & impact sensing door lock, engine immobiliser and more…
