Mahindra XUV 3XO – Long Drive Review

Mahindra launched the XUV 3XO, which is the facelift for the XUV300. However, the SUV comes with heavy updates on the outside as well as its inside. We also got a chance to road test the Mahindra XUV 3XO in the real world, so we drove the SUV on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway, the Mumbai-Nashik highway where we also took a few scenic diversions towards the Tansa lake that holds the supply of drinking water for the city of Mumbai and of course through the evening traffic in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai to bring you a comprehensive review of the Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Engine Options

Powering the Mahindra XUV 3XO are three engine options – two turbo petrol engines and one diesel option. The 1.2-litre TGDi turbo-petrol motor produces 96 kW of power and 230 Nm of torque and comes with a manual transmission or an automatic transmission. The 1.2-litre TCMPFi turbo-petrol engine produces 82 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque and comes with a MT and AT option. The turbo-diesel engine produces 85.8 kW of power and 300 Nm of torque and comes with a MT or an AMT (AutoShift+) transmission.

Design and Features

The Mahindra XUV 3XO comes with a polarising design on the front. However, the rear of the vehicle is quite beautiful and well chiselled in our opinion. The SUV gets subtle diamond textures on the front, the roof rails as well as the rear bumper. The car also comes with plenty of piano black finishes on its exteriors to give it a premium look. Additionally, the Mahindra XUV 3XO also comes with LED headlamps, LED taillamps and connected LED lights on the rear.

Interior and Safety

On the inside, the Mahindra XUV 3XO features ivory white theme on the higher-spec models. The ivory upholstery makes the SUV look spacious and premium. The car also gets piano black inserts on the centre console and around the infotainment system. The 3XO also offer leather accents on the steering wheel, gear knob, and front armrest.

Mahindra claims that the brand has used high-strength steel in major portions and also offers 35 standard safety features with the XUV 3XO. These include 6 airbags, 4 disc brakes, 3-point seat belts and seat-belt reminder for all seats. The Mahindra XUV 3XO also comes with Level 2 ADAS featuring both camera and radar system.
