Mahindra working on a new logo, will be used on 2021 Scorpio & XUV500

Mahindra could be planning to restyle the brand logo for the new year. A media report suggests that the is likely to appear on the upcoming Mahindra XUV500 which has been upgraded into its next-generation. Information on how the new logo will look is a well-guarded secret and we can only hypothesize that it will be an evolved version of the current logo.

The current Mahindra Group logo was first unveiled at the turn of the millennium 20 years ago and featured a visually dynamic design forming an ‘M’ within an oval, signifying the road ahead. The current logo which has three strokes that meet on top could have a deeper meaning representing the company’s key pillars. The current logo also appears to be a ‘Namaste’ which is a non-contact form of greeting in India and a widely used gesture in Southeast Asia.

The new Mahindra Group logo is also speculated to make its way on the new Scorpio, the KUV100 and the brand’s upcoming fully electric car. But it is likely to debut on the much-awaited 2021 Mahindra XUV500 which has been revamped completely. The SUV has been revealed in bits and pieces thanks to the extensive testing and spy pictures

The new SUV is expected to come with Full-LED lighting, tesla-like flush-mounted door handles, ADAS Level 1 Autonomous driving capabilities including radar-based adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking system, twin-display instruments cluster integrated into the infotainment system and a lot more.

The upcoming Mahindra XUV500 is speculated to be powered by a new mStallion series TGDi turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine that makes 190 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. The brand is also expected to offer the new XUV500 in a traditional oil burner – an mHawk series 2.2-litre diesel motor keeping the diesel engine aficionados happy. The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 is believed to be in its final stages of validation and will be unveiled to the public soon.
