Mahindra has commenced registrations for a new unique auction to raise funds for select charitable organizations supporting COVID-19 relief work. Mahindra will auction the first All-New Thar #1, the auction of which will go live on 24th of September and closes on 27th September 2020. The registration for the auction has started and interested parties can go online and register through the dedicated “All-New-Thar-Auction” website. The entire bidding will be conducted by Ernst & Young and the online auction is being conducted by Mahindra First Choice Wheels (MFCW) and hosted on the ‘carandbike’ auction engine. The auction will be open to everyone and the prospective bidders will be required to put down a refundable heed deposit.
The first All-New Thar #1, a coveted piece, will be auctioned to the highest bidder and the auction amount will be donated towards a noble cause related to COVID-19 relief work. Thar #1 will be marked with the Thar #1 badge, distinguishing the owner, as the very first one. The new Thar #1 will also include customized badging on the vehicle with the owner’s initials, carry serial number ‘1’ on the decorative plate on the dashboard and leatherette seat upholstery.
The highest bidder and new owner of the Thar #1 will have the choice of selecting the charitable organization from three options – Naandi Foundation, Swades Foundation and PM Cares Fund to which the entire amount raised from the auction will be donated. The winning bidder can also choose from five variants and six colour options of the All-New Thar.
On India’s 74th Independence Day, Mahindra has unveiled the all-new 2020 Thar in a digital debut. The all-new Thar comes both a soft top as well as a hardtop roof option and is not only off-road capable but comes with enhanced comfort and safety for the occupants.
The all-new Thar is powered by an all-new mStallion series 2.0-litre Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC petrol engine that makes 150 Bhp of power and 320 Nm for AT (300 Nm for MT) of torque. Optionally, the all-new Thar also comes with a mHawk series 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 130 Bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. The powertrains are matched to a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed torque converter type automatic gearbox.
Mahindra will commence bookings on the All-New Thar from 2nd October 2020.
