Powertrain Options
Powering the Thar 5-door is likely to be the same engine that currently powers the standard Thar. This is likely to be the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. In addition to this, rumours also suggest that the Thar 5-door is likely to come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine on entry level variants.
Exclusive Dual-Pane Sunroof
Recent spy shots confirm that the Thar Roxx will feature a dual-pane sunroof (referred to as “Skyroof” by Mahindra). This feature is likely to be a first in the ladder-frame SUV category in India, setting the Thar Roxx apart from its competitors. This premium feature is expected to be exclusive to the top-spec variants, while mid-level trims will receive a single-pane sunroof.
The Thar Roxx will make its debut on August 15, 2024. Dealers have reportedly begun accepting unofficial bookings, with promises to convert these to official ones once the launch details are confirmed.
