Mahindra & Mahindra’s Automotive division announces the sales report for April 2021. The brand garnered a total sales of 36,437 units for the given month. This comprises passenger, commercial and export vehicles. There is no year-on-year growth comparison as for April 2020, there were zero sales due to the national-wide lockdown. In the utility vehicle segment, Mahindra registered a total sales of 18,186 units in April 2021. And, for the passenger vehicle segment, the brand sold a cumulative 18,285 units for the given month. The export figures stood at 2,005 units for April 2021.
For the month of April, Mahindra registered a growth of 9.5 per cent in the passenger vehicle segment. This is in comparison to last month’s sales figure. The situation right now is quite threatening in the country with strict lockdowns across various states. This impacted the sales figure of most of the automotive companies in the country. The same will follow in the month of May, as the cases keep rising as the days pass on.
Mahindra (FES), registered domestic sales of 26,130 tractors as against 4,716 units for the same period last year. The export figure rose from 56 units in April 2020 to 1,393 units for April 2021. Mahindra anticipates that the demand for tractors will rise further as the Kharif crop season starts soon.
