Mahindra is developing a production version of the Scorpio N pickup truck that was showcased back in 2023. The upcoming pickup truck has been spotted recently in Manali doing high-altitude testing. Read more details below.

As visible in the spy photos, the pickup version is based on the Scorpio N. It is seen using a similar front design but with only a single-cab version. This has translated into a long flatbed, creating enormous space for payload. Another interesting part is the support frame that is bolted over the flatbed area to accommodate different sorts of luggage ferrying.
The test mule is also seen using the 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels identical to the Z8L variant of the Scorpio N SUV. Looking at the spy shots also gives a faint idea that Mahindra is readying different body styles for the upcoming pickup truck. Last showcased in 2023, the concept model had a dual-cab design with a five-seat layout but the test model seen here is different from it. This can possibly mean that there will be two variants of it, a single-cab and a dual-cab version.
Speaking of the powertrain, we can safely assume that it will come equipped with the tried and tested 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine sourced from the Scorpio N. However, unlike the SUV counterpart, the pickup model will have less power output but more usable low-end torque for easy farm use and off-road use. It will also get a standard 4X4 drivetrain. As far as the transmission options are, we anticipate that it will be offered with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT gearbox option.
Since the high-altitude terrain is still not completely driveable, Mahindra is testing it in Manali for now. In the coming weeks, we assume that more test mules will be seen testing in the Ladakh region.
Mahindra plans to launch the pickup truck in 2026. It will be positioned slightly below the Scorpio N in terms of pricing.

Mahindra’s concept version of the Scorpio N pickup truck is now destined to become a reality soon. The pickup truck will have no direct competition in the Indian market other than the Isuzu V-Max. However, it will be the Toyota Hilux buyers who will definitely get an affordable alternative with identical capabilities.
