Rumours are doing the rounds on the internet suggesting that Mahindra’s upcoming S101 compact-SUV could be priced as low as Rs. 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Although there are no concrete details available about this, if it does happen, Mahindra will not only give a big blow to the other compact-SUVs in the market, but also to the hatchbacks in the Rs. 4-6 lakh price bracket who would find more value in Mahindra’s new product.
Mahindra will also launch the S101 with a few segment best features for better differentiation and this will add to the competitive edge. Even the space available on the inside will be noticeably more than that of a hatchback which will make shopping across segments inevitable.
Another USP of the car is the 3 passenger seating capacity at the front. Which will make it a 3+3 seater, +1 compared to any other car in the price range.
Market launch is expected around mid-2015.
