M&M recently unveiled 5 new electric SUVs. All of the new all-electric SUVs will utilise Mahindra’s all-new INGLO skateboard modular platform. After a lot of teasers, we get to see the new all-electric lineup, and they look quite promising. The first all-electric SUV from Mahindra will hit the Indian market in late 2024.
The first one to make its way to the showroom floors will be the XUV.e8 from the new XUV sub-brand. The other all-electric SUV from the XUV lineup, the XUV.e9, will come next. Meanwhile, the BE range will arrive a year later. We have already taken a closer look at the XUV.e8. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at what the other e-SUV from the XUV lineup will look like and offer.
According to Mahindra, the all-electric XUV.e9 will make its way to showroom floors by April 2025. Unlike the XUV.e8, which is an electric counterpart of the XUV700, the XUV.e9 will be all-new. The design of the XUV.e9 also draws some inspiration from the XUV Aero concept Mahindra showcased a few years ago. Mahindra says it has a fearlessly modern design with the strengths of an authentic SUV, combined with the aerodynamic silhouette of a coupe.
As a part of the electric XUV lineup, it gets similar lighting elements to the XUV.e8. Like the XUV.e8, it gets a full-width LED light bar at the front and bumper-mounted headlights. Furthermore, as it is an EV, it also gets a closed-off grille. However, the design of the XUV.e9 stands out when viewed from the side and rear. You can see the coupe-like roofline from the sides, while from the rear, you can see the flat and short tail section. Unlike the XUV.e8, the XUV.e9 also gets a full-width LED light bar at the rear. The XUV.e9 also gets prominent body cladding all around in a gloss-black finish.
Mahindra has also released dimensions for the XUV.e9. The all-electric SUV-coupe will measure 4,790mm in length, 1,905mm in width and 1,690mm in height. Meanwhile, its wheelbase stands at 2,775mm. Meanwhile, powertrain and drivetrain options will likely be similar to the XUV.e8. However, unlike the XUV.e8, the XUV.e9 will be a strict 4- or 5-seater.
