Mahindra recalls 29,878 pickup vehicles for fluid pipe issue

Mahindra is recalling nearly 30,000 pick-up vehicles from its range over a fluid pipe issue. According to reports, the brand has informed exchanges that the brand has initiated a proactive inspection and replacement of the said fluid pipe. Sources report that pick-up vehicles manufactured between January 2020 and February 2021 may have defects due to improper assembly procedures. 

Voluntary Code of Vehicle Recall

According to a media report, the fault is limited to 29,878 vehicles, and the recall is in line with Mahindra’s customer-centric approach. The action is also in line with the voluntary code of vehicle recall. In addition to this, Mahindra will carry out the recall part inspection and subsequent rectification for free. The brand will also be contacting the customers individually for the recall, adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols. 

More Than 15 lakh Mahindra Pick-up Customers in India

Mahindra boasts of having the most comprehensive line-up of pick-up trucks in the Indian market. The Bolero Pik-up range caters to more than 15 lakh customers in India. In the segment, Mahindra has a market share of over 65%, in the LCV 2 ton to 3.5-ton range, as per records in September 2020. Mahindra retails Flat-bed cargo pick-up, first Double Cabin Pickup, first AC Pick up, or first CNG Pick up variants in the pick-up vehicle portfolio. 

Mahindra Pickup Range in India

Mahindra’s Pickup Truck range includes – Bolero Pik-up Extra Long, Bolero Pik-up Extra Strong, Bolero Camper and Bolero Pik-up CNG. The Extra Long comes with a 1,700 kg payload capacity and the longest cargo deck of 2765 mm in the pick-up segment. The Pik-up Extra Long also comes with an efficient yet powerful 75 Hp diesel engine, comfortable seats, and other features. The Extra Strong comes with a payload capacity of 1300 kg along with a 1500 kg payload variant. The pick-up also comes with a more robust 8-leaf rear suspension and durable double bearing axle. It also gets large tyres, a reinforced frame and a stabilizer bar for the front suspension.
