Mahindra Racing has unveiled its 2023 FIA Formula E World Championship Livery. The car with the updated livery was showcased at the official pre-season test at Valencia, Spain.
Both the Mahindra cars – the no. 8 and the no. 11 will be shod in a striking red and copper livery. The Mahindra M9Electro racing cars will be driven by Oliver Rowland and 2016/2017 Formula E Champion Lucas Di Grassi.
Designed by the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE), the livery brings about a refined design style with innovative electric racing. It also brings closer the joint efforts by MADE and Mahindra Racing UK.
The car gets an inspiration from the carmaker’s Born Electric platform design language along with the global colour trend in fashion. This is achieved by the Copper colour working together with the signature Mahindra Red. Further, the design pays homage to previous victories of the team, and showcases the Mahindra vision for the Gen3 Era of Formula E.
This is the first outing for the Mahindra Racing’s CEO Frederic Bertrand who has recently joined the team ahead of Season 9. Bertrand said that he was very excited for the new team, with new cars, new liveries and was looking forward to working with the fantastic team members at Mahindra racing, including drivers Oliver and Lucas.
Testing has commenced in Valencia and it will go on till the 16th of December. The Mahindra team is looking very strong with the renewal of Rowland and signing up of World Champion Lucas Di Grassi.
Mahindra Racing has signed up Jehan Daruvala for their Formula E Team. Jehan will be designated as the team’s Reserve Driver for Season 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. This could mean better opportunities for the young Indian driver going ahead.
