The upcoming LCV from Mahindra, codenamed as the P601 has been spotted testing. It will be positioned above the Gio SCV (Small Commercial Vehicle) and below the Maxximo MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle). Based on the size, pricing is expected to be very competitive.
The P601 is expected to be offered in two wheelbase options with different payload capacities in the range of 600 kg – 750 kg.
Exteriors sport a recessed headlamp setup and a single front windscreen wiper. Mahindra has shared a lot of parts from the Maxximo. The gear stalk is mounted on the centre console of the dashboard which will free up more space between the driver and front passenger.
Engine is expected to be a re-tuned version of the 909cc, diesel motor currently available on the Maxximo.
Once launched by mid-21015, it will rival the likes of Tata Ace.
