Mahindra has launched the new Karoo Dusk pick-up truck in the South African market with a price tag of ZAR 549,999, which roughly converts to INR 27.45 lakh ex-showroom. The Mahindra Karoo pick-up is based on the Scorpio platform and comes with 4×2 and 4×4 drivelines. The pick-up truck is currently not available in the Indian market. But if Mahindra plans to retail the Karoo Dusk in India, it will compete with the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
The Mahindra Karoo Dusk comes with features such as a matte black exterior paint with rugged front and rear bumpers. The SUV also comes with all-terrain tyres and an imposing front fascia offering an intimidating look. The pick-up comes with an air-intake on the bonnet, sleek headlamps, gills on the front fender and robust dual-tone alloy wheels. The Karoo Dusk also comes with black finish step-boards and a roll-over hoop on the pick-up bed.
Powering the Mahindra Karoo Dusk is a new-generation 2.2-litre mHawk four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The mHawk engine produces 138 Hp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The Karoo comes with a 4×2 driveline with an optional 4×4 drivetrain. This allows the pick-up to the truck to traverse over rough terrain with ease. The pick-up truck is capable of carrying a load of 1000 kg and has a braked towing capacity of 2500 kg.
Mahindra is currently in the process of upgrading the Scorpio SUV in the Indian market. The brand is currently testing the next-generation Scorpio, which will come with an entirely new design and larger dimensions. The SUV will also come with a powerful and highly efficient powertrain and four-wheel drive options. Recently, the brand was photographed testing the Scorpio SUV in the Land of High Mountain Passes – Ladakh.
