Mahindra introduces Alfa three-wheeler range with BS6 engine

Mahindra has launched the new BS6 compliant version of the brand’s flagship 3-wheeler brand, the Mahindra ALFA. The Mahindra Alfa is offered in both passenger and cargo options with four variants catering to various customer requirements. The Alfa boasts to be one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in the category. The new Mahindra Alfa features a completely new powertrain with a water-cooled unit that has clocked more than 4 lakh kilometres of testing, both on and off the field. The company has despatched test drive vehicles to its dealers in September and will ensure availability of Alfa for the festive season.

The Mahindra Alfa comes in two variants each of the Passenger and Load segments. The passenger segment comes with Alfa Dx as the base variant and Alfa Comfy that features car-like suspension and wider sofa type comfortable seats. In the Load segment, the Alfa comes with Alfa Load and Alfa Plus with deck length and payload of 5.2 ft & 470 kg and 5.7 ft & 520 kg respectively.

The Alfa series three-wheelers are powered by a new BS6-compliant water-cooled engine that offers 37% higher displacement, 16% higher power and 12% higher torque over its BS4 version and has undergone significant changes. The engine produces 9.4 hp of power and 23.5 Nm of torque and delivers the best-in-class mileage of 28.9 kmpl in passenger and 29.4 kmpl in load variant. The new Alfa series three-wheeler comes with features such as an advanced dashboard, spacious cabin with wide seats, push-button start and mobile charging points. It also comes with a long wheelbase and high ground clearance.

Recently, the electric arm of Mahindra also announced that the 100% electric three-wheeler range, the Mahindra Treo has crossed the 5,000 units sales mark in the Indian market. The lithium-ion battery-powered electric three-wheeler is offered in two main variants the Treo and Treo Yaari.

Mahindra also offers the three-wheeler customers with benefits such as accidental death insurance cover of INR 10 lakh, child education scholarship & referral benefits on service etc.
