Mahindra has hiked the prices of the Scorpio Classic. The prices for the SUV have been hiked by a whooping INR 85,000. The starting price of the SUV is now INR 12.64 lakh.
The Scorpio Classic comes with a refreshed design, contemporary interiors, new features, built-in technology and more. Mahindra says the Scorpio brand has evolved to address customers’ needs. Furthermore, it continues to remain a popular choice for customers who want a tough and capable SUV.
Currently, the Scorpio is offered in 2 variants. These are the S and the S11. Coming to the price, the 9-seater S now costs INR 12.84 lakhs while the top-end S11 version will set you back by INR 16.14 lakh.
The Scorpio Classic was Mahindra’s way of selling both the current and the previous generation models at the same time. The Scorpio Classic was offered in just two variants post the launch of the Scorpio N.
Powering the 2022 Scorpio Classic is Mahindra’s Gen-2 mHawk turbo-diesel engine. The engine now uses an all-aluminium construction which helps with weight reduction. The company claims it is 55 kg lighter than before. Furthermore, Mahindra has added a new 6-speed cable shift on its manual transmission.
The engine makes 132 PS of peak power and 300 Nm of torque. The peak torque arrives at 3,750 rpm, while the peak torque comes between 1,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm. Mahindra also says that 230 Nm of torque is available from just 1,000 rpm.
The Scorpio Classic gets LED taillights, 2nd row AC vents, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, micro hybrid tech and others. Further, Mahindra is also offering a hydraulic-assisted bonnet on the base model. On the other hand, the fully loaded model costs considerably more than the base model but also offers a lot more. Other features include a 22.86 cm touchscreen infotainment display, LED DRLs, projector headlights, Diamond Cut alloy wheels, arm rests on the front seats and much more.
