Mahindra could introduce 1.5-litre petrol variant of Marazzo MPV

Mahindra is likely to introduce petrol going version of the Marazzo MPV. The petrol Mahindra Marazzo could be launched with the new mStallion series BS6 Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection engine which was revealed at the 15th edition of the Auto Expo in 2020. 

The mStallion series TGDi engine includes the G12 which is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 130 hp of power but the brand could use the 1.5-litre TGDi mStallion engine that produces around 163 hp of power and 280 Nm of torque. The new XUV300 is likely to get the more powerful 2.0-litre TGDi mStallion series engine that produces 190 hp of power and 380 Nm of torque. The transmission option could be limited to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter type automatic gearbox. 

Currently, the Mahindra Marazzo is available with a BS4 1.5-litre D15 diesel engine that produces 121 hp of power and 300 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission. 

Talking about the exteriors, the Marazzo is 4585mm long, 1866mm wide, 1774mm in height and comes with a 2760mm. The MPV features a shark-tooth styled front grille with chrome accents, bumper with a large air dam, black inserts in the foglight area, a sloping bonnet, muscular wheel arches, option of steel and alloy wheels, upswept character line on the doors, a shark-fin styled rear tail lamp cluster etc. 

On the inside, the Marazzo features up to 8 seating configuration with a 7  seater option that comes with captain seats. The dashboard comes with a glossy embellishment on the centre band, a centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment, rotary controls on the climate control console, control mounted steering wheel, analogue-digital instrument panel and trapezoidal AC vents. 

In terms of safety, the Marazzo comes with dual front airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels armed with ABS and EBD, ISOFIX child restraint anchorage system, rear parking sensors, rear camera, parking assistant, cornering lamps, over-speed alert, seat belt reminder for both the driver and passenger. The car also features a crumple zone and side-impact beams to absorb the crash energy.

Ford is also likely to bring the G15 1.5-litre mStallion engine on their in-development products that are likely to be partnered with Ford.
