Mahindra just launched a new Bolero model called the Bolero Neo in the Indian market. The Bolero Neo will not be replacing the standard Bolero but retail alongside the standard model. While the Bolero Neo underpins the third-generation chassis from the Thar and Scorpio, in reality, the SUV is an upgraded version of the TUV300.
The interiors of the Bolero Neo also boast of having been designed by Mahindra-owned Italian design house Pininfarina. The SUV also comes with more creature comforts and a lesser utilitarian design on the interiors and exteriors, in line with the ‘NEO’ moniker. Powering the Bolero is a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre mHawk75 turbodiesel engine. The oil burner produces 75 Hp of power and 210 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox with Micro Hybrid technology (Auto Engine Start/Stop) as standard. On the other hand, the Bolero Neo comes with a BS6-compliant mHawk100 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbodiesel engine. The oil burner makes 100 Bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. The Bolero Neo also comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and a mechanically locking rear differential on the top-spec variant.
The Bolero measures 3995mm in length, 1745mm in width, 1880mm in height. The SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2680mm. The Bolero Neo comes with 3995mm in length, 1795mm in width and 1817mm in height. The SUV comes with a 2680mm wheelbase which is the same as the standard Bolero. While both the Bolero and Bolero Neo are similar in length, the Neo is wider than the standard model.
The Bolero comes with digital instruments cluster, an audio system, driver airbag, reverse parking sensors, ABS and static bending headlights. The SUV also gets a manual AC, power windows and keyless entry etc., depending on the variant. The Bolero Neo comes with a semi-digital instruments cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, premium interior upholstery, power windows, manual air conditioning, and a plethora of safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), cornering brake control, etc.
The Bolero retails with a starting price of INR 8,41,519 ex-showroom. The Bolero Neo comes with a starting price of INR 8,48,000 ex-showroom.
