Mahindra has achieved a significant milestone with its BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs, both earning the highest ever 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP). This marks a major achievement for Mahindra in the realm of vehicle safety.
The Mahindra BE 6 scored an impressive 31.97 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. Similarly, the XEV 9e also secured top marks, achieving 32 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e come equipped with advanced safety features, including up to seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. Both vehicles also feature rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring systems, and electronic stability programs.
In crash tests, the BE 6 received high marks in both frontal and side impact tests. The BE 6’s adult occupant protection was rated ‘good’ for all parts except the driver’s right tibia, which received ‘adequate’ protection. The BE 6 also performed exceptionally well in child occupant protection tests, scoring 24 out of 24 points in dynamic tests using child restraint systems.
The XEV 9e, on the other hand, excelled in all crash tests, earning a perfect score in both adult and child occupant protection. The XEV 9e’s safety features include forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist.
These high safety ratings are a testament to Mahindra’s commitment to producing safe and reliable electric vehicles. The BE 6 and XEV 9e are priced competitively, making them attractive options for consumers looking for both safety and sustainability.
