Mahindra & Mahindra has posted its sales figure for April 2022. The company’s overall sales for the month of April stood at 45,690 units. The company sold 22,168 vehicles in the Utility Vehicle segment, a growth of 22 per cent. At the same time, the Passenger Vehicle segment saw an increase of 23 per cent, with 22,526 units sold. The growth is despite the long waiting times on the new XUV700. Even with the long waiting times, the XUV700 remains one of the best selling SUVs in the company’s lineup.
Mahindra & Mahindra saw growth across all segments, including the exports. The company says there is strong demand across all segments with strong booking numbers. However, the company did mention supply chain challenges due to the lockdown in China. Although, the company says they are monitoring the developments and will take appropriate action as needed.
The figure for Utility Vehicles stood at 22,168 compared to 18,168. This marks a year-on-year improvement of 22 per cent. As for cars and vans, the manufacturer registered a growth of 262 per cent, with 358 units. The total passenger vehicle sales saw a growth of 23 per cent over last year, with 22,526 units sold.
The LCV <2T category of Commercial Vehicles sold 2,929 units against 1,561 last year. The year-on-year growth hence stands at 88 per cent. For 2T to 3.5T LCVs, the sales stood at 13,768 units, which is a growth of 13 per cent. The LCV >3.5T + MHCV category saw the biggest growth of 112 per cent. The sales figure stood at 705 against last year’s 333 units. The 3-wheelers, including electric 3-wheelers sales figure, stood at 3,009, a growth of 47 per cent.
The sales growth continued for exports as well. The company posted a sales figure of 2,703 units for the month of April 2022. The exports saw an increase of 35 per cent over last year’s 2,005 units.
