Made-in-India Citroen C3 exports begin from Kamarajar Port

Citroen India now makes its presence felt in the international market as well. As a part of this, Citroen will begin exporting cars from India. This new agreement marks Citroen’s export programme in India. Thus with KPL serving as the primary port.

Target Is To Capture Key Markets In ASEAN And African Regions

Citroen has high hopes of tapping into the growing demand for affordable and high-quality cars in the ASEAN and African regions. Hence, Citroen started with the exports of C3 from India. The French automobile manufacturer is making its presence felt in its global expansion strategy. The long-term aim is to establish a strong presence in emerging markets.

Electric Vehicle Transition Is Also A Priority

The French carmaker is also looking at spearheading its electric transition. With the launch of the eC3 in India. A closer look at the sales figure in June 2022 reveals that the Citroen C3 had a slow start with only 60 units sold. However, things changed fast as Citroen improved its sales significantly in the following months. This came forward as 550 units sold in July, 825 in August, and a substantial increase to 1,354 units sold in September. Then going forward, the following months maintained consistently high sales figures, with an exception in February 2023. For this month the sales dropped to 111 units. Citroen C3 retailed a total of 6,585 units during the given period. This results in an average sales of 732 units sold per month.

The long-term sales prospects of the C3 are now both domestic sales and exports too. Talking about the upcoming products, there’s the launch of C3 Plus/AirCross 7-seater SUV coming up on April 27, 2023.

Citroen India Aiming Big In The International Market

Citroen India’s exports can help the brand expand its business and enter new international markets. French will do it all to leverage its robust manufacturing base to produce high-quality vehicles at lower costs. By exporting vehicles from India, the French automaker also has plans to increase its brand visibility and establish a strong presence in new markets.
