LIVE! Mahindra U321 MPV to be called ‘Marazzo’

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Mahindra’s new U321 MPV will be a premium offering, and a brand new product. Nothing has been carried over from an existing Mahindra model. This is a good thing, and Mahindra claims that this new U321 MPV is not replacing any existing MPV in the brands portfolio.

The new Mahindra U321 MPV is going to be called the Marazzo, and has received inputs from Pininfarina for the product design. They say that the cars design takes inspiration from the shark’s shape. Marazzo means SHARK in the Basque language.

The Xylo is now too utilitarian for a family UV. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga handles the lower price segment while the Toyota Innova Crysta caters to the higher end of the MPV segment buyers. So Mahindra needed the Marazzo (U321) which will be positioned in between as a people carrier, for the Indian families.

Mahindra claims that the Marazzo will be Versatile, Spacious, Comfortable, Good Ride Quality, Better Build Quality, Exciting, Stylish, Good Performance, and good to Drive. he MPV will have better NVH, faster cooling, aerodynamic design, low coefficient of drag, and a new patented architecture.

The new Marazzo will have the largest footprint of any Mahindra vehicle till date, rated at 47.5 sq.ft.

Interiors will come with use of blues and purple shades, a unique AC vent placed as a spine on the roof for surround cooling, leather seats, beige interiors and of course, 7-seats (captain seating) along with an 8-seater option available during launch.

Mahindra’s Marazzo will manufactured at the brands plant in Nashik and will be launched in Q2 FY2019.
