LIVE! Hero MotoCorp launches Xpulse 200, Xpulse 200T & Xtreme 200S

Hero MotoCorp is considering the premium motorcycle segment, above 200cc to fuel growth. The Xpulse 200 is a more adventure tourer friendly motorcycle while the Xpulse 200T is a more road biased tourer model.  Both bikes have different ergonomics and a few part changes which makes the difference.

The Xpulse 200T comes with a wide handlebar, road focussed 17″ wheels, pillion grip with bungee hooks, USB charger under the seat, and a single-piece comfortable ribbed seat. The bike gets LED headlamp with LED tail lamp, alloy wheels, engine underbelly cowl, digital instrument console with bluetooth connectivity and turn by turn navigation, call notifications, a conventional mounting of the exhaust, front and rear disc brakes. The Xpulse 200T comes in 4 colours – Black, Gold, Red & Grey.

The more rough road friendly model is the Xpulse 200. This will be an ideal upgrade to the Impulse which was launched in 2011. The Xpulse 200 to differentiate it as a adventure tourer model has a small fly screen, high mounted exhaust, knuckle guards, spoked rims, 21″ front wheel, 18″ rear wheel, aluminium engine bash plate, front and rear disc brakes, knobby tyres, LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, single-piece seat, pillion grab rail, longer travel suspension. The bike has 190mm front suspension travel and 170mm rear suspension travel on the Xpulse 200. The bike has a 825mm seat height. One can also remove the foot peg rubbers for additional grip while off-roading.

Hero MotoCorp has also launched the Xtreme 200S. This is a fully-faired motorcycle for the premium segment in India. Can you consider it a Karizma replacement? It is up to you. The 2019 Hero Xtreme 200S comes with led headlamps, full fairing, front and rear disc brake with single-channel ABS, digital instrument console, LED tail lamp, rear radial tyre, rear monoshock, single-piece contoured seat, alloy wheels, rim stripes and the likes…

Engines:

Xpulse 200T comes with a carburetor only 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor producing 18.4 PS of power and 17.1 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox. The Xpulse 200 carburetor variant also produces the same figures as mentioned for the Xpulse 200T. The Xpulse 200 Fi also has no change in power and torque output, same 18.4 PS and 17.1 Nm matched to a 5-speed gearbox with programmable fuel injection. The Xtreme 200S comes with the same 199.6cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve motor producing 18.4 PS of power @ 8000 RPM and 17.1 Nm of torque @ 6500 RPM matched to a 5-speed gearbox.
