Lith Pwr Mobility launches electric 3Ws with Honda’s swappable battery packs

Lith Pwr Mobility Pvt. Ltd. has launched its own brand of electric three-wheelers in the Indian market. The Thane-based company has partnered with Tork Motors Pvt. Ltd. and Honda Motor Company, Japan’s subsidiary Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt. Ltd., for its three-wheeler operations in India.

Under this partnership, Lith Pwr’s electric three-wheeler will be powered by Tork Motors’ powertrain, and Honda will provide the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) swapping solution. Thus, Lith Pwr also became the first company in India to run its own electric three-wheeler fleet powered by Honda Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS).

Commercial operations for BaaS have commenced, and Bengaluru, Karnataka, already hosts multiple swapping stations to smoothen its operations. Furthermore, the company has successfully executed its pilot project in Thane, Maharashtra, in 2021.

Tork Motors’ powertrain uses an Axial flux motor supported by the CAN-based controller to dish out maximum power. Thus, Tork Motor claims it has an overall efficiency of 94 per cent. Furthermore, it also comes with a 2-speed gearbox that offers the optimum output.
