Lexus LX570 lands in India

Last week, we shared a report that Toyota had revived the plans of bringing in the Lexus range of luxury cars to India. Seems like the plan is very much true and moving forwards at a fast pace now. The import / export data website, Zauba, now reveals that a new 2014 model Lexus LX570 (RHD) has been imported on 25th of September, 2014.

The Lexus LX57o is powered by a 90 degree V8, 5.7L petrol engine producing 383 BHP of power @ 5,600 RPM and 546 Nm of torque @ 3,600 RPM. Engine is mated to a six-speed, sequential-shift automatic with ECT (electronically controlled transmission) and powers all four wheels with a Torsen limited-slip differential. The massive SUV can accelerate from o-100 kmph in 7.5 seconds.

The LX570 measures 5,003mm in length, 1,971mm wide, 1,920mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,850mm.

Features include 8 passenger carrying capacity, 7000 lb towing capacity, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, roof rails, sunroof, touchscreen head unit, rear seat entertainment package and a host of segment best safety features.

If Toyota does bring this in to the Indian market, those sitting on the fence to buy a luxury SUV will surely have a tough contender in their already long list of options. Expect pricing to be around the Rs. 1 crore mark.
