Lexus has launched the new RX 450hL SUV in India with prices starting from INR 99 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The RX range of SUVs debuted in 1998 and have been an important product for Lexus globally in reaching more customers. Bookings are now open in India for this 4th generation Lexus RX 450hL and it now comes with an additional 3rd row of seats making the interiors more functional.
The Lexus RX 450hL just like any other Lexus is very sharp and edgy in its design. The luxury SUV now comes powered by a 3.5L, V6 petrol engine with Dual VVT-i & D-4S fuel injection system and this motor is also BS VI compliant. With the atkinson cycle, this is a hybrid petrol engine which also allows for full EV drive mode when the batteries are charged. It has a self-charging system which means that while you are driving the Lexus RX 450hL, if the batteries drain out, they get charged with the motion generation by the petrol engine and also due to brake energy regeneration. The engine when pushed hard also charges the batteries which effectively means that you do not need to stop and plug-in your RX 450hL to a power outlet.
The 2019 Lexus RX 450hL is made out of lightweight materials and making use of high-tensile steel and aluminium. The body is built using spot weld and body adhesives with reinforcements at strategic spots along with laser screw welding. For safety, the Lexus RX 450hL comes with Active Cornering Assist which allows for sharp driving feel with linear momentum being delivered without the body roll kicking in too much. The new model also sports reworked shock absorbers with Friction Control Device reducing the noise and vibrations caused over rough roads.
The new Lexus RX 450hL claims to have theater like seating style with good all around visibility for passengers in every row.
On the outside, the Lexus RX 450hL comes with LED headlamp, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps, diamond cut alloy wheels, large Lexus front grille, squared wheel arches, floating roof effect, chrome DLO, smoked effect for tail lamps, body cladding, Hybrid badge on the rear door, rear spoiler, subtle roof rails, ORVMs with LED turn indicators, keyless entry, etc.
