Lexus India has announced the launch of the new ES 300h executive sedan for the Indian market. The ES 300h has been the Japanese luxury car manufacturer’s most successful product to date. Its global recognition comes courtesy of elegant design, outstanding quietness, class-leading craftsmanship, and self-charging hybrid electric technology. Lexus ensures the refinement of the new ES 300h thanks to better styling, ride, and responsiveness.
Being the key model in Lexus’s line-up, the ES 300h was launched in India in 2017 and globally in 1989. The car sports a global sales figure of around 2.65 million units across 80 countries and regions. Lexus India announced the local production of the ES 300h in 2020, making it the first ‘Made in India’ vehicle. The locally produced ES 300h will continue its legacy and showcase its commitment to the Indian market.
Lexus India has also declared the warranty extension for its hybrid battery from 5 to 8 years across its hybrid range. The company will offer the latest ES 300h with an 8-year hybrid battery warranty to enhance the ownership experience. Thanks to hybrid technology, Lexus has won 4 consecutive titles from 2018 to 2021 at the 24 hours of LeMans racing.
Lexus will offer the ES 300 executive sedan in two variants. The base ES 300h Exquisite begins at an introductory price of INR 56,65,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Lexus retails the top-end ES 300h Luxury at INR 61,65,000 with minor additional features. The brand offers six colour options – Sonic Quartz, Graphite Black Quartz, Sonic Titanium, Ice Ecru Mica Metallic, Red Mica Crystal Shine, and Deep Blue Mica. For 2021, Lexus also added two new colour options for the ES 300h – Sonic Iridium and Sonic Chrome.
The ES 300h now features a newly designed front grille consisting of a mesh pattern and L-shaped components. Newly re-designed headlamps and dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels are the key notable additions. The 2021 ES 300h retains its signature L-shaped LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, sloping roofline, and exterior chrome pieces.
The cabin of the new ES 300h now features a touchscreen multimedia system based on the brand’s human-centred approach. The 12.3-inch system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and pairs to a 17-speaker Mark Levinson Sound System. The interior comes with a classic luxury walnut theme and essential wood grain textures. Other interior highlights include ventilated seats, automatic climate control with ‘nanoe-X’ technology for cabin purification and deodorization, and a concierge service.
Powering the ES 300h is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol motor paired with a self-charging electric motor. The hybrid engine produces 214 PS of power and 221 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to reach 100 kph in 8.9 seconds. The ES 300h is driven via an electronic continuously variable transmission.
