Launch ready Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 spotted, looks good?

Images of what appears to be the production-ready Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 surfaced online. The adventure bike is expected to go on sale later this year with the launch expected on 1st November 2023. Further, the latest trademark filings by the Indian bike maker for the name Guerilla 450 could mean that the Himalayan 450 ight use this name.

Himalayan 450 : More Details

In terms of design, the new larger displacement Himalayan looks similar to the regular Himalayan. However, the bike maker has incorporated some changes as well. The front gets a circular LED lamp, windscreen and a revised mudguard. Royal Enfield is offering wire-spoke wheels, which means the tyre could be of tube-type variety. There are disc brakes on both wheels along with dual channel ABS.

Further, the fuel tank appears to be larger and the bike gets a split-seat layout. There are multiple luggage mounts for a host of configurations like panniers, side boxes, top boxes etc. The Himalayan 450 will be positioned as a touring machine.

The bike also gets a new digital instrument cluster. Royal Enfield has also updated the switchgear and the new Himalayan 450 could get updated controls. Keeping up with the times, the bike will get USB socket and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity as well.

Powertrain of the 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

The new Himalayan 450 is based on a new 450cc platform. This new platform will further spawn a host of other bikes. This new single cylinder engine is expected to be rated around 35-40 BHP and 40 Nm. The bike gets a 6-speed gearbox. The engine also comes with a liquid cooling option.

Pricing of the Himalayan 450

While there is no official word yet on the pricing of this motorbike, we can expect the Himalayan 450 to cost to the tune of INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom). This would mean, the bike would head on against the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS and the Yezdi Adventure.
