Land Rover has opened the bookings for the new Discovery Metropolitan Edition in India. Prices for the SUV start at INR 1.26 Crore (ex-showroom). Customers have two engine options to choose from. One is the P360 Ingenium petrol engine, which makes 355 HP and 500 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the second engine option is the D300 Ingenium diesel engine which makes 296 HP and 650 Nm.
This specific edition gets a host of exterior and interior upgrades that enhances its on-road urban appeal. Based on the R-Dynamic HSE specification, the SUV gets Bright Atlas detailing for the grille and Discovery script. In addition to this, the special edition trim also gets Hakuba Silver lower bumper inserts, 50.80 cm (20-inch) Satin Dark Grey wheels, black Land Rover brake callipers, and a sliding front sunroof and a fixed rear panoramic roof.
Customers also get a host of other key additions like a 31.24 cm (12.3-inch) interactive driver display, wireless charging with phone signal booster, front cooler compartment, four-zone climate control and heated steering wheel. Heated and cooled rear seats, powered seat recline and intelligent seat fold technology further enhance the driving experience. For the interior, the cabin gets Titanium Mesh trim detailing. Customers also get the benefit of Advanced air filtration. Jaguar is making use of Air Purification with the PM2.5 air filtration that monitors air quality inside and filters harmful particulates. Being a seven-seater with a flexible load area also adds to the convenience.
With the demand for luxury cars growing in India, Land Rover is also witnessing a similar trend. The current dealership network has its presence across major cities in the country. This includes Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Karnal, Lucknow, Mumbai, Noida, Pune, Raipur, Surat and Vijayawada. The count stands at 25 authorised dealerships across 21 cities in the country.
