Land Rover has launched the biggest Defender in India. The Defender 130 is the extended version of the Defender 110. The SUV is offered in two trims – HSE and X- between INR 1.30 crore and INR 1.41 crore.
The Defender is an iconic name in the automotive world. Starting off as a humble working-class off-roader, the SUV has evolved continuously over the years. This new Defender offers the best of creature comforts and the ability to traverse non-existent roads for the driver who wants to go off the beaten path.
The Defender 130 is based on the Defender 110. However, while the wheelbase of both these is the same, the former is 340mm longer. Thanks to this, space has been created for a third row of seats.
Coming to the design, the Defender 130 features an identical exterior. The SUV has LED headlamps, integrated LED DRLs, a large panoramic sunroof, and 20-inch alloys. It also gets smoked tail lamps.
On the inside, Land Rover has equipped the Defender with an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, quad-zone automatic climate control and a 360-degree camera. The SUV also comes with 14-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating and cooling apart from the memory functions.
The Land Rover Defender 130 is offered with a choice of two engines. The petrol motor is a 3.0-litre unit in the P400 trim and is rated at 394 BHP and 550 Nm of torque. The other is a 3.0-litre diesel motor (D300) that is good for 296 BHP and 600 Nm. Both units are paired with a four-wheel drive system.
